What to do first
Safety before anything mechanical. Get as far right as you can, onto an off-ramp, surface street or car park if the car will still move. Hazards on. Why call us instead of straight to a tow?
Because a large share of freeway breakdowns are things we carry. Alternators, batteries, starters, belts and hoses account for a great many of them, and all can be replaced at the roadside once you are somewhere safe. A tow moves the problem to a workshop and adds days and cost to the same repair.
